Early adulthood is about choosing a course of action just to overthink that course of action. The everything-everywhere-all-at-once of it all, and the ways that you see others living out the life you chose not to have. Well, Megan Winsor’s song ‘That B*tch’ is just about that, about recognizing the challenges in your own life while knowing you can’t go back to the old.

For this video we concepted ideas that leaned into this blunt simplicity; the longing for a life of order that turns into chaos on a wine drunk afternoon; ultimately seeing the bright side in what could have been simple made hard. We pictured two versions of Megan, each singing to the other: one vested in reality while the other a fictional version of herself, the person who she fantasizes being but knows she could never be.

In directorial style we created a contrast between these two worlds through color, framing, and contact/engagement to camera. We aimed to overstate the two archetypes, and leaned into the verses by acting the lyrics out in real time. In the edit we accentuated the punchiness of the song through quick cuts, loose framing, and overlays to build movement & story the scene.
